bored?

It is 2:30 in the afternoon. Can you believe that I am actually bored? Isn't that crazy?! Andrew is sleeping , the boys are still at school, my house is clean and I've been scrapping for 2 days straight. Amazing. I am so taking all of this in and enjoying.

Not to mention that my headaches have been better lately. Yep, I said better. My neurologist took me off of some of my pain medication so that I can "detox" a bit. So far, so good. The analgesics were actually doing more harm than good. Weird how that works.

Above are some of my first Creative Memories projects. I have LOTS more but can't post them until the lines have been officially released. Designing for them has been incredible. They are so generous with product. It's amazing. Anyway, I am having a blast working and doing what I love - scrapping. :)

Well, I spoke too soon, the UPS guy just dropped another box of CM product (yay!) and that in turn woke up the little guy (boo!). So....off I go to get the baby and then play with some more scrapping stuff. :)

back to school.

I can hardly believe that summer break has come and gone again already. It seems like yesterday that I was wishing for warm weather and pool time. *sigh*

Tomorrow the boys head back to school and I go back to chasing my little one, all by myself. I don't know what poor Andrew is going to do without his big brothers. I have a feeling that I will be very busy keeping him occupied.

Today is Nick and I's 13th wedding anniversary. That is even harder to believe. We've been together for a total of 15 years now. I love him more today than I ever have. (I know, everyone at the same time...."awwww".) Tonight we're off for dinner alone. It's been a long time. I bet we won't have to wait forever at a restaurant for once. Do you know how long it takes for a place to find and set up a table for 7? Yeah, well then, you have to pay for the meal - and we have 2 that are off the kid's menu now. Yikes! Anyway, it'll be nice to be together - alone. ;)

Last week, I finished my August DT work for Memorable Seasons. Jill sent a fun mix of American Crafts Moda Bella, Hambly and Prima flowers and trim. (see above layouts). I also posted a couple of Sketch This cards from the past two weeks. The top one is done with the MS kit and the second with Coconut Scrapbooking's August kit, featuring Rose Moka.

Fancy Pants Designs

So, I did it. I submitted to the Fancy Pants Design Team Call. I almost didn't. I had to push myself to get two new layouts done and I just didn't "feel" like it. I've been tired. Lots of stuff going on at home and I've been kind of bummed. But anyway, I DID IT and I'm happy with my submission. And I can't wait to see who makes the team. It would be an honor to be chosen! I created the above 2 layouts and then used a previously made layout and mini album.

The "True" line that I used above is from one of the 2007 CHA releases so it's older but I LOVE it. The colors and patterns are just gorgeous.

Did anyone else submit? They had a lot of trouble keeping their inbox empty. I had to send my submission twice. I wonder how many entries they received. Hmmm.....

I can't believe that summer is almost gone. It flew by this year. The boys have one more week before school starts.

Jim came back last week from his 10 day TMT (Teen Missionary Trip) in California. He had a wonderful time. He (along with the other teens) ran the VBS for a church out there. What great exposure and training it was for him.

Today, my Joshua is on his way to Squirt Camp. It is his first camp experience away from his family. He'll be gone for 3 days. If he doesn't get to homesick, I know that he will have a great time.

Soccer practice starts up next week too. It looks like we're in for 4 nights of practices each week. Yep, I am missing summer break already. ;)

As for the scrapping side of things. I have been pretty busy. If you take a peek at the Cosmo Cricket site....here and here...you can see a few of my new Cosmo projects. :)

I have some exciting news. I was approached last week by Creative Memories. They really want to try and appeal to the mainstream scrapbooking world again. So....I have been invited to design for them on a freelance basis. I worked on my first assignment this past weekend. First of all I have to say WOW! They sent me so much stuff to work with. I received a huge box full of their awesome tools and new products. If you are familiar at all with the company you know that their products are a bit different than what I am used to working with. They don't offer much in the way of embellishments right now BUT that was the fun part of the challenge. With all of their great papers and stickers (yes, I said "great" stickers) and their wide array of tools and punches I was able to really get creative. It was all really fun to work with. Anyway, if you didn't know, CM has gone to "true" 12 x 12 papers and albums. I think it's a great step in the right direction for them. :)

So, out of my own curiousity...how did you get into scrapbooking? Who's to blame for your addiction? My journey all started with a Creative Memories workshop at a friends house TEN years ago. Then, shortly after, I was introduced to Stampin' Up and my life was changed forever. lol Wow, hard to believe it's been that long. ;)
